How to Plan Your Equipment Upgrade Path
Three Planning Modes Explained
Efficient mode skips tiers when your current gear is survivable for the content ahead — it'll jump you from Bronze straight to Adamantite if you can farm Zone 2 safely. Gradual mode shows every intermediate step, useful when you're tight on specific materials and need to craft in stages. Budget mode minimizes total material cost, which sometimes means using a lower tier longer.
Bench Upgrades Block Progress
The most common planning mistake is farming Thorium or Adamantite ore before upgrading your Armor Bench to Tier 3. The planner shows bench upgrade steps explicitly in the path. Don't skip ahead — if Step 1 says "Upgrade Armor Bench to Tier 2," that must happen before any Tier 2 armor recipe unlocks.
Per-Piece vs. Full Set Planning
Upgrading all four slots at once doubles your material requirement. The smarter approach: upgrade Chest first (highest stat impact), then Legs, then Helmet, then Gloves. Adamantite Chest gives +24 health and 14.4% physical resistance. The planner's per-slot breakdown lets you stage this across multiple farming sessions.
How to Get the Best Results
If you have mixed gear — Bronze chest but no legs — select the lowest tier you currently have. The planner fills that gap before moving up.
Set Tier 2 Iron/Steel as the intermediate target if Adamantite feels out of reach. Step-by-step paths for achievable goals are more useful than an overwhelming end-game plan.
Tick the materials you already have. The planner skips completed steps and shows only what's still needed for your farming checklist.
The bottom summary aggregates everything needed across all steps — use it as your complete farming checklist before heading into the zone.
Common Questions
Going from Bronze to Adamantite still requires a Tier 2 bench upgrade — you need Tier 2 bench access before Tier 3 unlocks. Steel is sometimes the fastest way to justify that bench upgrade before jumping to Adamantite materials.
Both are Tier 3, but Adamantite sits at item level 40 with higher health bonuses (Chest: +24 health, 14.4% resistance). If you're farming Zone 2 consistently, targeting Adamantite directly is worth the extra material investment over Thorium.
Zone 2 Goblin Ogres deal up to 16 physical damage per hit with 12 defense. Bronze armor's 9% physical resistance reduces each hit to roughly 14–15 damage. A full Bronze set adds around 50 total health — about 3–4 extra hits before death. Pair with Health Potions (40 HP instant restore) for a workable Zone 2 margin.
