How the Equipment Recommender Works
Recommendations Based on Your Zone
The recommender filters gear by the zone you're heading into. Zone 1 (Emerald Grove) is balanced by Goblin Thieves at 38 HP with 12 damage — Bronze armor's 9% resistance keeps hits manageable. Zone 2 (Devastated Lands) escalates with Goblin Ogres at 124 HP dealing 16 damage with 12 defense, pushing the recommendation toward Adamantite or full Steel as a minimum.
Playstyle Affects Priority
Aggressive players benefit from higher DPS weapons even at the cost of lower defense — the recommender skews toward weapon tier when combat style is set to "aggressive." Defensive playstyle prioritizes armor health bonus and resistance percentage. Balanced mode finds the highest combined value score across both weapon and armor, which usually means prioritizing Chest and Legs before upgrading the weapon.
Material Availability Filters
The recommender only suggests items you can actually craft with materials you have or can realistically farm. If you've marked that you have access to Adamantite ore from Zone 2, the tool won't push Iron or Steel recommendations. Toggle your available material tiers in the filter section before generating recommendations for the most accurate suggestions.
Getting Accurate Recommendations
Select your existing Helmet, Chest, Legs, Gloves, and Weapon tiers accurately. The recommender uses this baseline to calculate which upgrades provide the largest stat improvement per material invested.
Choose the zone you're preparing for. Zone difficulty directly affects what minimum gear score the recommender targets. Going to Zone 2 without the recommendation meeting the minimum will trigger a warning.
Choose Aggressive, Defensive, or Balanced. This shifts recommendation weight between weapon DPS and armor effective health, affecting which upgrades rank highest in the output list.
The recommendation list is sorted highest priority first. Focus on the top item first — it provides the biggest survivability or damage improvement per material cost at your current progression stage.
Common Questions
The Adamantite Chest grants +24 health and 14.4% physical resistance, the highest values among the four armor slots. The Helmet adds +14 health and 8% resistance, Legs +19 health and 11.2%, Gloves +11 health and 6.4%. Chest first maximizes effective health gained per material bar spent.
The recommender will recognize your current zone access and suggest the best Tier 1–2 options available from Zone 1 resources — primarily Iron, Bronze, and Steel. Steel Chest gives +17 HP at 150 durability, a solid Zone 1 progression target while you build Cobalt/Adamantite access.
Yes. Each weapon type has different base attack speed and damage. A Longsword hits at 1.2 hits/second for 8 physical damage (9.6 sustained DPS), while a Crude Axe hits slower but deals 16 on charged attacks. Recommendation prefers Longsword for consistent DPS unless the Aggressive preset is selected, which favors high burst weapons.
