Understanding Attribute Investment in LORT
Strength
Increases health, physical damage, and carrying capacity. Essential for tanky builds and melee combat.
Agility
Boosts critical hit chance, attack speed, and dodge. Key for ranged and stealth-focused builds.
Intelligence
Improves magic damage, mana pool, and cooldown reduction. Vital for spellcasters and utility builds.
Build Examples
Heavy Warrior Build
If you're playing a Warrior with a two-handed weapon and focusing on physical damage output, STR provides significant returns early on. At STR 20, each point gives roughly 2.4 health and 0.18% physical damage. However, once you reach 50 STR, the health gain drops to around 2.1 per point, and damage scaling becomes less efficient.
At that breakpoint, investing in AGI (even at 15-20) starts looking better because it adds attack speed and crit chance that multiply your total damage. The calculator shows this crossover point based on your current weapon and class multipliers.
Sample allocation: STR 48 / AGI 24 / INT 8 for balanced damage and survivability around day 15.
Hybrid Ranger Build
Rangers scale best with AGI because of class-specific attack speed bonuses. But if you picked a bow with both STR and AGI scaling (like Acretaker, Distant Death which has 0.25 STR scaling), splitting your points can yield higher DPS than pure AGI investment.
The calculator helps you find the exact ratio. For this particular bow at level 25, a 30 STR / 40 AGI split often beats 70 AGI because the weapon's damage multiplier applies to both attributes. Once you hit AGI 50, the ROI curve flattens, and adding more STR gives you better health without sacrificing much DPS.
Sample allocation: STR 28 / AGI 42 / INT 10 when using dual-scaling bows.
Battle Mage Setup
Wizards naturally lean into INT for spell damage and mana pool expansion. At INT 35, each additional point grants about 1.8% magic damage and 12 mana. But if you're wielding a hybrid weapon that scales with both INT and STR, the calculator reveals when spreading points becomes optimal.
For instance, with a weapon that has 0.3 INT and 0.2 STR scaling, keeping STR around 20-25 while pushing INT to 50 gives you enough survivability to handle boss encounters without sacrificing your primary damage source. The ROI calculator shows exactly when to stop investing in INT and redirect points to STR or AGI for defense.
Sample allocation: STR 18 / AGI 12 / INT 50 for high spell damage with moderate tankiness.
Advanced Tips
- Diminishing Returns: Each additional point in an attribute yields slightly less benefit than the previous point. The calculator visualizes this curve so you can identify when to pivot.
- Enemy Type Matters: Armor-heavy enemies reduce physical damage effectiveness, making INT builds more valuable. Magic-resistant bosses flip that priority.
- Weapon Scaling: Check your weapon's scaling attributes. A 0.4 AGI scaling weapon rewards agility investment far more than a 0.1 AGI weapon.
- Class Multipliers: Warriors get 1.2x health scaling, Rangers get 1.15x damage scaling, and Wizards get 1.2x damage scaling. Your class changes optimal stat distribution.
